Playout

The DMC originates over 50 standard and high definition television channels through the use of advanced server and automation systems. From the Central Network Operations Centre, all channels are controlled and monitored 24 hours a day. Channel operations range from complex live Sport events to thematic channels, covering all genres. Presentation styles from simple ‘cuts only’ to complex automated promotions are all possible.

As a truly global operation the DMC handles complex language requirements, originating over a 100 streams of subtitling and handling media with up to 18 separate language tracks. Channels originated at the DMC are delivered across four continents; Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia.

Behind our playout operation is a digital data archive, a combination of disc and tape archive, which holds the transmission master versions of all media. This archive automatically holds two physical copies of all content for redundancy and is intelligently managed to always keep content available in time for transmission.
